CEREAL QUALITY LABORATORY

The Laboratory was established in 1999 in the scope of the project financed by the International Atomic Energy Agency. It is located on the second floor of the Faculty, room number 166, in two sections with an overall area of 55 m2.

Equipment

Infratec™ 1241 grain analyser;
Perten Falling number 1700 alpha-amylizer;
Farinograph Brabender;
Sedimat Brabender;
Perten Glutomatic System;
Pfeuffer HE 60 Moisture Meter;
Mills Brabender

Analyses

Protein, starch and oil content in grains of wheat, barley, rye, oats, rice, triticale, maize, soybean, caw pea;
Alpha-amylase activity, sedimentation, wet and dry gluten, moisture content in flour of cereals;
Farinologic properties of dough;
Electrophoretic analyses of storage proteins in wheat.

Main activity of the Laboratory

Scientific projects in the field of cereals breeding;
Analyses for milling and baking industry;
Analyses for seed trading companies.
