TOBACCO LABORATORY

Tobacco Laboratory was founded in 1966/67. It is located on the second floor of the Faculty, with an overall area of 36 m2.

Equipment

Thermostats;
Muffel oven;
Moisture meter, Kett T-22;
Varbourg apparatus.

Analyses

Quality traits of tobacco seeds (moisture, purity, absolute mass, hectolitre mass, germination energy and total germination);
Physical characteristics of tobacco raw-material (water-absorption capability, content of basic rib, fraction content, determination of tobacco type and class, content of impurities of organic, mineral, natural and artificial origin);
Organoleptic properties (sensory characteristics) of tobacco raw-material and tobacco products;
Tobacco moulding;
Tobacco fermentation;
Losses during fermentation.

Main activities

Scientific and applicative projects in the fields of agricultural technique, tobacco breeding, processing and finalization;
Analyses for the tobacco industry and governmental institutions.
