 INSTITUTE OF PLANT PROTECTION AND AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY

The Institute for Plant Protection and Agricultural Technics consists of 4 different departments: Department of Entomology, Department of Phytopathology, Department of General Field Crop Production and Department of Agricultural Machinery. There are a total of 7 employees in the Institute, 6 of whom are involved in educational and research activities, and one person works as a laboratory technician. The main activities of the Institute employees are education of students and scientific research work, which is mainly focused on plant diseases caused by fungi, bacteria, viruses and phytoplasmas, plant damage caused by insects, spiders, other pests and weeds, as well as integral pest management, biological control of harmful organisms, agricultural machinery and its exploitation, process technology, mechanization of crop production, mechanization of livestock production, homologation of agricultural machinery and processing equipment. At the same time, the Institute deals with long-term applied activity, in the field of plant health, biological efficiency of pesticides, training of farmers, testing of operational properties of agricultural machinery and tools used in agriculture, etc.

STUDY PROGRAMМЕS
Undergraduate studies (8 semesters):

Plant protection - Phytomedicine
Students of the Phytomedicine study programme are introduced with the most important harmful organisms in agricultural production, such as pathogenic organisms (fungi, bacteria, viruses, phytoplasmas, parasitic flowers, etc.), pests (insects, spiders, nematodes, etc.) and weeds, as well as with pest control systems and integrated crop management (ICM) and integrated pest management (IPM).

Master’s studies (2 and 4 semesters):
Phytomedicine, Modules: Phytopathology, Entomology, Herbology and Phytomedicine.
Agricultural Machinery, Modules: Mechanization of Crop Production and Mechanization of Livestock Production.

Doctoral studies (6 semesters): Plant protection (Phytomedicine)
